Description

This course is currently offered as a live instructor-led training which can be completed 1:1 or in a small group. Typically offered via webcam as the most time & cost-efficient training option, however, in-person training options are available and can be discussed with a Lifeloc representative.

This course provides a DER with a thorough education of his or her duties as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and detailed information about the drug and alcohol testing requirements employees are required to follow. The course provides a comprehensive dictionary of testing terminology, specific modal regulations, and the procedures for workplace testing programs.

Who Should Take This Course?

Any person who is not a service agent, is designated as a DER and is authorized to take immediate action to remove employees from safety-sensitive duties and make decisions in the testing process. This may include:

Safety Manager
Human Resource Manager
Administrator
Owner/Operator

*It is suggested that employers have a second individual certified as a backup DER in case the lead DER is unavailable or out of the office. Collection sites and MROs should always be able to reach a DER regarding an employee’s test or test results to avoid delay.
